GEO Agent
The generative engine optimisation agent that checks whether AI assistants cite you — and what to change when they don't.
Probes the assistants, scores your visibility, finds who they cite instead, and tells you what to fix.

What changes
Without Xicmo
- You have no idea whether ChatGPT mentions your brand when someone asks it to recommend a tool like yours.
- A competitor is being cited as the default answer and you will not find out until a prospect mentions it.
- Your analytics show a referral from an assistant, with no query and no context attached.
- Advice about AI search is generic listicles, none of it measured against your own brand.
- Nobody can say whether last quarter's content work changed anything in AI answers.
With Xicmo
- Your seed queries are put to the assistants directly, and you see whether you were named.
- The brands cited instead of you are recorded, so you know who currently owns the answer.
- Visibility is scored on a schedule, which turns a one-off spot check into a trend line.
- Recommendations are tied to the specific queries you lost, not to general best practice.
- The score before and after a content change is on the same chart, so the work is measurable.
What is GEO (generative engine optimisation)?
Generative engine optimisation is the practice of making a brand more likely to be named in answers produced by AI assistants — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and the rest — rather than in a ranked list of blue links.
It matters because the interface changed faster than the measurement did. When an assistant answers a buying question, it usually cites a handful of sources and names one or two products. Being absent from that answer is invisible in every traditional analytics tool: there is no impression to count and no position to track. GEO exists to make that absence measurable.
How it works
- 01
Define seed queries
List the questions a buyer would actually ask an assistant — category questions, comparison questions, the ones where being named is worth money.
- 02
Probe the assistants
The agent puts those queries to multiple models and records what came back: whether you were cited, and which brands were named instead.
- 03
Fix what you lost
Each missed query comes back with the gap that caused it, so the content work is aimed at a specific answer you failed to appear in.
What it does
Multi-model visibility probing
Runs your queries against several assistants rather than one, because being cited by one model says nothing about the others.
Competitor share-of-voice on your queries
Records which brands get named when you don't, turning a missed citation into a specific competitor you can study.
Weekly scoring with trend history
Scores visibility on a schedule so the number becomes a trend rather than a snapshot argued about in a meeting.
Query-level gap analysis
Ties each loss to what was missing — coverage, specificity, or a source the model trusts more than yours.
Shared site context with the SEO and Content agents
Runs on the same site profile the rest of the workspace uses, so a GEO gap can be handed to the content agent without restating anything.
Per-site scoping for multi-site workspaces
Scores are tracked per site, so one workspace can monitor several brands without averaging them together.
A tracker that also tells you what to change
Most AI-visibility tools stop at measurement: here is your score, here is the competitor's, good luck. The number is interesting exactly once. What makes it actionable is the query-level gap — which specific question you lost, and what was missing from your coverage when the model answered it. That is the part this agent is built around, and it is why the output is a content brief rather than a leaderboard.
Buying research is moving into the assistant
A growing share of category research now happens in a conversation rather than a results page, and that conversation returns two or three names instead of ten links. The shortlist is shorter and the position is winner-take-most, which makes absence considerably more expensive than a low ranking ever was.

Questions
What is generative engine optimisation?
The practice of making your brand more likely to be named when an AI assistant answers a question in your category — and, first, of measuring whether it currently is.
How is this different from an AI-visibility tracker like Profound or Otterly?
Trackers report the score. This agent reports the score and the gap behind it — which query you lost, what was missing when the model answered — and hands that to the content agent as a brief. Measurement without a next step tends to get checked twice and then ignored.
Which assistants does it check?
Several of the major ones rather than a single model, because citation behaviour differs sharply between them. A brand that ChatGPT names reliably can be absent from Perplexity entirely.
Can I really influence what an AI assistant says?
Partly, and honesty matters here. You cannot edit a model's weights. You can change what it retrieves and cites — coverage of the question, clarity of the claim, presence on the sources it leans on. That is a real lever, but it is slower and less deterministic than changing a title tag.
How quickly will I see results?
The first score lands on the first run. Moving it is content work, so expect weeks — and expect the movement to be uneven across models rather than a single clean line.
Does it publish or send anything without my approval?
No. Every agent drafts into a queue and stops there. You read it, edit it, and press publish — or you don't, and nothing leaves. There is no mode that posts on your behalf unreviewed.
Do I need any technical setup?
Add your website URL and the agents start working. Connecting Search Console or Analytics makes the SEO and GEO agents considerably sharper, and both are OAuth — no keys to paste, no DNS records, no code on your site.
What is included in the free plan?
50 credits on signup, no card required, and every agent unlocked. Credits meter actual AI usage rather than seats, so you can try the agent that matters to you instead of spending a trial learning the interface.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. The Max plan is monthly and cancels from billing in one click — no contract, no notice period, no call to book. Drafts you have already generated stay in your workspace.
