What is the Xicmo MCP server?+

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard AI apps use to reach outside tools. Xicmo's MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other AI apps read your Xicmo marketing data and ask your AI CMO, so you can check your marketing without leaving the app you work in.

Which AI apps can I connect?+

Claude (web, desktop and mobile), ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code with GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, Codex CLI, Cline, Zed, LM Studio and n8n, plus any other MCP client that speaks Streamable HTTP, or any local-only client through the mcp-remote bridge.

Do I need an API key?+

Not for apps that support MCP sign-in: Claude, ChatGPT, VS Code, Claude Code and Gemini CLI connect with just the server URL, and you sign in to Xicmo and click Allow. Apps that read a config file, like Cursor or Windsurf, use a personal token you make on the MCP page in Xicmo.

Can the AI app change anything in my account?+

No. The tools read your scores, audit, action items, drafts, runs and credits. They can't run agents, publish, pay or change settings. Asking the AI CMO a question uses your Xicmo credits, the same as the in-app chat.

Is my data safe?+

Every connection is scoped to one workspace. Sign-in uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE, access tokens expire after an hour, tokens are stored only as hashes, and you can disconnect any app or revoke any token from the MCP page at any time.

Does it cost extra?+

No. There is no extra charge for the MCP server. Reading your data costs nothing; asking the AI CMO uses credits, like a chat message in the app.
